February 02 Update on Tiffany Hello again this is actually Karen but I wanted to tell everyone why my partner has not yet got to post a blog. She just had her 3rd son back in oct. and had some complications with her gul bladder. She had surgery this week to have it removed and is starting her recovery process. So it will take her a couple weeks or so till she can get back to working out and dropping more weight. Who knows maybe just by having the surgery she will have lost a pound or two. Anyone know how much a gul bladder weighs? lol just kidding. I will make sure she writes out a blog entry as soon as she is feeling better. January 29 karen's miles and miles to goHere I am again. There are some things I didn't get to say in my first blog. I am not only just trying to lose weight right now. I am also training. My dad is a runner, its something he took up a few years ago at the age of 62. I started running myself in hopes to be able to run in a race with him at some point. Well that some point is now. My dad (for Christmas) payed my way into the St Louis half-Marathon on April 6th. I'm excited about it but I have never ran close to that many miles. "That" is 13.1 miles(for anyone who doesn't know). I started my training for this at the beginning of January. I am now running a little over 5 miles on the treadmill, and hopefully with the right shoes I will be able to run that much outside now also. I just purchased a new pair of running shoes today. I never knew that was such a complicated thing. But I believe I have the right pair now so I should just be able to run for days. LOL, yea right. keep checking back. I will let you know how my runs are coming alone with my new shoes. Karen My StoryOkay so here goes my first blog, My name is Karen. Even though I just joined this contest, my weight loss journey started back in september. At that time I weighed 216lbs. That is the most I have ever weighed and I was ready to make a change. So I stopped drinking soda and started walking. I lost 10lbs but by November it was getting cold, so I chose to get a gym membership and take my workouts indoors. I made the decision at the end of Nov. to get a trainer. I signed up for 16 sessions. It paid off I drop another 17lbs so far, but I only have 2 sessions left. Which brings me to the present time I now weigh 189lbs and my goal weight is 145lbs. I think I will be keeping my trainer. The gym I go to is starting a "biggest loser" contest of their own and I want to be in it. |
